Jamie Rife
she/her/hers
SVP of Stability and System Innovation
Jamie is originally in Upstate New York but has lived in different parts of the world, including Central Mexico, Atlanta, and now calls Denver home. She spent nearly 13 years in public education before becoming obsessed with the issues of homelessness and housing stability over a decade ago.
At her most recent position, Jamie had the opportunity to help drive historic reductions in unsheltered homelessness and innovate on affordable housing solutions while serving as Denver’s Chief Housing Officer and Executive Director of the Office of Housing Stability (HOST) under Mayor Mike Johnston. Previously, Jamie ran the Continuum of Care in Metro Denver, served as the State Coordinator for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth at the Colorado Department of Education, and was also the cofounder of a tech nonprofit helping people connect to giving opportunities in their local communities.
Jamie holds a B.A. in Sociology and Spanish, a master's in educational administration and policy, and a doctorate in educational leadership. In 2020, she coauthored the book “Journeys Out of Homelessness: The Voices of Lived Experience.”
When she’s not busy contemplating complex social issues, she can be found hiking, training in Muay Thai, brandishing a power tool, or hanging with her husband and their four fur children.
