At an early age, Chara discovered her love for impacting communities while growing up in Jackson, Mississippi. After graduating from Tougaloo College with a degree in Business Administration & Economics, she worked to help build and develop non-profit startups that serviced under-resourced communities. Years later, she moved to Atlanta, GA to continue her journey in non-profit program management for the Girl Scouts of Historic GA. Seven years later,  Chara pivoted to work within the housing stability sector for the United Way of Greater Atlanta. During the pandemic, she moved to Texas to work for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, managing the day-to-day navigation strategy for one of United Way Dallas’s largest community housing initiatives.

Chara is no stranger to community partnerships. She is a true extrovert and enjoys networking. At Housing Connector, her role consists of building community partnerships to increase housing access for all individuals across the City of Dallas.

In her spare time, Chara enjoys reading memoirs, watching inspiring documentaries, and watching healthy eating YouTube channels.
